Limoncello

The 'limoncello' is a Sicilian liqueur easy to prepare. This liqueur can remain in freezer without freezing.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1L of pure alcohol
  • 8 (organic) lemons
  • 1L of water
  • 1kg of sugar
  • Lemons have been cultivated for many years and their nutritional properties provide vitamins that promote good health and protect against diseases.

    Lemon juice contains no fat, and has other properties to protect against high cholesterol levels.

    peel the lemon

    Peel the lemons. During this stage, remember to remove the peel or "flavedo", not the underlying layer called "albedo".

    Place the peels inside a airtight glass jar with a lid.

    Pour the bottle of alchool over the lemon peels and then seal up the jar.

    Leave them in infusion for 8-10 days.

    Boil water and sugar.

    Let water cool.

    Add the infusion and mix.

    Filter the liquor.
